Baby girl is getting so big!!

So Isabella is getting big!! Too fast for my liking!! She's not even 5 months old, but I feel like she's so much older already. I put away her clothes today, and I saw her newborn clothes and it made me so sad cause she's not that little anymore!! I know, when she's like 2 then they're going to seem so much smaller, but they still seem so small now. She's rolling over! Which is exciting, I love this video of her, cause she's trying SO hard to roll over and you can see it! Then tonight she sat up for the first time by herself, and I mean, she's done it before, but has leaned all the way forward to grab her feet, but tonight she did it with her back straight. She's eating some solid foods, and she's getting really good about eating them, I don't have to trick her into eating it, she sees the spoon and opens her mouth now. She does that kind of with her bottle too, I'll hold it up and she'll grab hold of it and put it in her mouth, she just can't hold it quite yet. She can for a few seconds, but never very long because she holds it too close to her face so it falls. She's getting close though!! I can't believe she's already 4 1/2 months. Its pretty crazy!! She has almost started scooting even! She scooted forward on the bed a couple nights ago, but today she scooted in a circle. Oh goodness! I just can't believe how big she's getting and how fast!! She's still waking up at night, I blame that dumb cold of her's she had, cause she was sleeping through the night, but now its about 3 times a night. Which isn't so bad, cause she'll go right back to sleep usually, but I think she should go back to all night sleeping!! haha.

Let's see, my update... I haven't cooked since my last post, but that's alright. I've started looking into taking online classes. I'm really excited about that! I applied to the University of Phoenix, I just have to wait for my last name to go through the social security office so I can apply for financial aid. I really want it to go through cause I really want to start taking classes. I'm going to start working a few more days a week, as a server. That way I can make a little bit more. Its going to be rough, I'm so used to spending all day with Isabella, I'm not sure how long its going to last me working more, cause I miss her even when I just go to work on Sundays. We'll see how it goes. Jeff's still getting ready for the army. We've got a few things to take care of before his recruiter can process his application, but he has turned it in. And once that goes through, he said that Jeff will probably be going to basic training in April or May most likely. Which is a little scary, cause he's going to be gone for awhile, but I think its going to make him really happy, so I'm glad he's doing it. The apartment hunting has been put on hold, which is fine because I mean, when Jeff goes to basic training it would be just me and Isabella, so this way I still have my mom, and we won't have to pay rent and can save up for when Jeff gets back and gets stationed somewhere. I mean, our situation isn't ideal, but its probably best right now.

Here's my cooking post!

AKA: my baking and pasta making post... haha So I made pesto fettuccine and put it into wheat bread bowls. Well... sort of. I didn't really get them to rise into balls like they were supposed to, I think i just didn't have them shaped and such the way I was supposed to. Which is fine, I just stuck two of them together and cut out the centers, and ta-da! it worked just fine. AND! I have to say, they tasted pretty darn good!

The pasta is just a canned pasta sauce, I found a recipe for it, but just in case I screwed up the bread, I wanted to make sure the pasta still tasted right. Luckily, it all tasted good. :)
For dessert I made brownies, from scratch! Even the frosting is from scratch. Those were really good.

So there it is! My first real attempt at dinner making. Something easy, but not as easy as I've made in the past. And I liked it, and Jeff said it was good and he liked it, so... I'm pretty proud of myself. :)

This is my crafty post!

So there's not too many crafty little projects I do. Sometimes I attempt to scrapbook, but at the moment, its just too much of a hassle to take out and put away, and since there's not a whole lot of living space for us, I do have to worry about keeping things clean. There are a few things I've done though, I made the headboard above our bed, some might have seen the pictures posted on facebook when I did it, and I just made a pillow. Yes, I HAND sewed a pillow. And I've made pillows before, but not by hand, so this one was kind of a pain in the butt, I just don't have a sewing machine so I didn't really have any choice. I did have fun making the pillow though, it gave me something to do. While getting the fabric, I saw some that I'd like to make some things for Isabella out of, so maybe I found my hobby! haha I'll just have to invest in a sewing machine to really enjoy it though. So anyway, here are pictures of my headboard.

It's not much, but until we're in our own place it doesn't make sense to go get bedroom furniture, although, we have some picked out. :) But all this headboard is, is some plywood, padding, some fabric, then there are 3 buttons along the top. It's really easy! That's what's so great about it.
The pillow I made is for Jeff. He had this t-shirt with A TON of holes in it, and he kept wearing it! I told him I'd make him a pillow out of it, so he could still have it awhile ago, so finally I decided I would. Now, its not the best looking pillow, but its still a functioning pillow and it does what its supposed to! So here are those pictures.

Like I said, not perfect, but its not horrible. I have no idea what exactly he's gonna do with it, but hey, maybe eventually he can put it in his very own man cave. haha
So, tomorrow I'm going to be cooking. Well, baking technically. I'm making us dinner. I'm gonna make pesto fettuccine and put it into bread bowls, and then for dessert brownies from scratch!! I'm really excited, but really nervous at the same time. I hope everything turns out like its supposed to. So tommorrow might be my cooking post, or at least this weekend, cause Isabella goes to the doctor Friday, so I might just wait and combine the two. But I will definitely be posting how the dinner is. Wish me luck!!

Apartment hunting

We didn't do anything for New Year's Eve, well, we went to dinner with my mom and Barry, but that's it. Jeff didn't feel very good, so we just stayed home. We were invited to a few places, but he just didn't feel up for going. I think it was actually the first year I didn't even watch the ball drop. Oh well, I had a nice relaxing night with the family.

We've decided to start looking for an apartment. We're going to start having extra money a month now, so we'll be able to afford a place. We found a great townhouse that we really like. We just need to do some figuring to make sure we can afford it easily. At least until Jeff joins the army, because then he'll be making enough to easily make rent, until we get stationed somewhere. But the townhouse is two bedrooms, two and a half bath, has a fireplace in the living room, a nice big kitchen, and comes with a washer and dryer! We've seen other places after that one, but we just can't stop thinking about that one. I just hope we can figure it out!!
Speaking of the army, Jeff is planning to start paperwork and such in February so that he can leave in March for basic. Our friend Chad and him are both planning to go then, so that will be good that they go together, they just have to start studying in order to be ready for their asvab test. We got a bunch of workout stuff for Christmas, so if he doesn't make it to the gym he's got stuff to at least work out at home now which is good.Other than that he's just been working.
Isabella is teething. She's so young, I'm surprised she's started already. Which its not SO bad right now, she's just pretty drooly, not to whiney or cranky about it. We've been working on her sitting up, and she's getting pretty good at it. Not really able to sit by herself, at least not for long, but she's getting closer to it! She's slowly starting to like being on her belly more too. Which is good because she's really good at holding herself up, and she moves her legs a lot, so I think if she keeps that up she'll be crawling shortly. Its just a matter of her being happy on her belly. She was weighed and measured today, she's 13 lbs. and 26 in. She's getting sooo big. We go to the doctor soon too, so we'll find out all that again then too.
I've decided I want to start learning how to cook! I mean, I can cook some things, I just... don't. But as long as I have a recipe I do pretty good at it. I just need to start practicing and cooking more, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm kinda scared for Jeff, cause he'll be the one trying it all, but it shouldn't be too bad. But other than taking care of Isabella and working every once in awhile, that's all I'm up to. I'll be sure to post how the cooking thing goes.

Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and got to spend it with everyone you wanted. This was our first Christmas together as a family, and it was the best. We had Christmas at Jeff's dad's house the weekend before, had some really good food, and got to hang out with Jeff's brothers and sister and her family. That was real fun.

Then Christmas day rolled around and we all got spoiled and had a great time. I was so excited for Isabella's first Christmas, of course she had no idea what was happening, but it was fun for me!

Grandma Barb got her a walker, which she loves, she can't reach the ground even when its at its lowest, but she loves sitting up.

I swear that girl is going to be walking before she learns to crawl. She hates being on her belly, but loves sitting up and being held up to where she stands. She can pretty much roll from her back to her belly now, but she likes sleeping on her side, so that's usually as far as she makes herself roll. She's getting so big, its pretty crazy!I see pictures from birth and she seems so tiny compared to now!
That's pretty much all that's new for her, nothing really is going on with Jeff and I. He's still trying to get into shape, and going to the gym and all that sorta stuff so he can join the Army.

I hope everyone has a Happy and safe New Year! See you in 2010.

Married

Well we got married! December 9, 2009. It was a great little ceremony with most of our families and a couple of my really close friends! I couldn't have asked for a better small ceremony! Of course I still want to have our big one, well, bigger one, cause I want to feel like a princess! But having it in a year gives me more time to plan and more time to work off the baby weight I feel I still have a lot of. But we had the ceremony at the courthouse, and then we all went out to dinner at Garcia's. We had good food, got to hang out and talk, and Jeff and I sat in the middle of our families so it wasn't weird for anyone but we could still talk to both sides. Jeff's mom made us an awesome red velvet cake, which we got shoved into our faces. But that's the only time I know of that I've had a red velvet cake, and turns out I really like it! Very tasty, that's for sure!! I tried hard to not have it shoved in my face, but he chased me around the room with it, so I grabbed two pieces and covered his face!! I had cake up my nose and couldn't breathe even!! haha Then his dad was nice enough to pay for a room for us that night. And man, it was awesome! We had a huge tub, which could fit like, ten people into it, and that was upstairs, then we had a fireplace and tv in a living room type thing, then the bedroom with a HUGE bed. The most awesome part was that we got to sleep!! haha It was great cause we didn't have to worry about Isabella waking up in the middle of the night, so it felt great to be able to sleep through the night. I was real worried at first about leaving her for the night, but I made it through it, and so did she. Which is good, but I still missed her. So far being married doesn't feel any different, except for when I call him my husband rather than boyfriend or fiance... But that's the only big difference so far!
My family left to go back to Missouri today, it was good to see them but also really good to have the house back to normal. Way too many people to have in one house for longer than a week!! haha I'm glad they made it up here though. My sisters and mom and I went and had pictures taken together, that was fun and I'm glad we did. We don't really get to do anything just the four of us. Not that it really was just the four of us, Amy's youngest son was there, but it was just us that were in the pictures.
Jeff's still planning on joining the Army with Wendy's husband Chad. Turns out I'm not the only one who would rather Jeff join a different branch of the military. Quite a few of his family isn't happy about it either, which its not that I expected them to be, but its good to have other people say that to him. He says I worry too much, which is probably true, but really, its hard not to.
Anyways, thats all the news so far. Here are a few wedding pictures for everyone!

Holidays and marriage

So Isabella's first Thanksgiving was great! We stayed over the night before at Jeff's dad's house and spent time with him, his stepmom, brothers, sister & husband and nephews. Jeff went hunting Thanksgiving morning with his dad and brothers. Isabella didn't really want to sleep very well in her port-a-crib, but well enough... We had a very tasty dinner there and then came back to have dinner at Barry's (my mom's boyfried) house with Uncle Charlie and his family, which was also very tasty!
I went back to work at Red Robin as a hostess, only working about one day a week right now... I'll probably start working more soon, but right now its been hard to have a babysitter so that I can work. But then I'll be able to pick up shifts as a server too.
Jeff is planning to join the military, it was going to be the air force, but now we're not sure what it will be, probably the army if Wendy's husband Chad joins too, cause that gives them both someone to work out with, and to join with, which hopefully means we'll all be stationed in the same place, because that would be so much easier with having someone I know wherever we end up.
April and Amy (my sisters) are supposed to be here tomorrow... They were originally going to be here about 2 a.m. but there's some crappy weather going on. I'm really excited for them to get here, cause my neice Jessica and nephews Michael and Christopher and Jordon (great nephew) are along too, and it finally feels like the holiday season because for the first time in a very long time we've had tons of family get togethers. Then while they are here, Jeff and I are going to get married. Its turned into a little bigger of a deal then we had planned originally! But that's alright, we're going to have a lot of family there, His dad and family are going to be there, and his sister and her family and his mom and stepdad. So that will be fun. We're going to the courthouse on the 9th, but we're planning to have an actual fancy ceremony, because well we both want one... And it will happen! haha We're really doing it so fast because of his plans to join the military, and of course because we want to, but this just makes it easier with the miliary. But I'm excited for this next week, it should be a good one for sure!
Isabella is smiling all the time! Its so adorable! She's trying so hard to laugh, she coos when she smiles and it sounds similar to a laugh but she can't quite get the giggle out, but I can't wait for her to, I know its going to be so cute! She's getting so big! I miss her being little, but at the same time I can't wait for everything she's going to learn to do. Pretty much I love being a mom, and she's so fun! Except of course when she wakes up in the middle of the night, which doesn't happen very often anymore, but still, that's never fun for anyone I would guess!
That's all our news for now, I'm sure there will be more after this week is over! :)
